Restoring an old recurve ?
Friend found out that I'm now an archery instructor and gifted to me his dad's old recurve for demo purposes and to use. Beautiful old bow, and admittedly, I only own youth bows, so it's nice to have one that fits me...it's 6' tip to tip unstrung.
Problem is; one tip, about a foot of it, has twisted over the years, maybe 15 degrees. (left to right, not front to back...like a twisted 2x4)
1) how will this affect the accuracy? Safety?
2) best method to untwist?
3) should I only use it for illustrative purposes? i.e. identifying the parts of the bow.
Thanks.
Matt
