around here they are more trained to come when they hear the feeders go off then a call. MAYBE, just maybe a hog feeding sound or 2 pigs fighting will bring other curious ones in.

Dang Rock....shouldn't you "cook" that fermented corn with some yeast and sugar before feedin' to the hogs ?? Electronics work. Squeallin pig, but ya need to be up a tree !! They will not be happy campers when they arrive !! Early mornin or late evening. They usually move at night in these parts.

Hi Rock, Guess you have some luck there, assuming you plan on eating them. I've heard mixed stories about whether they are good for the freezer. Even saw one penned where they wanted to fatten it and reduce the gamey taste.

About 5-10 years ago, I knew that they were over west of Branson, didn't know they were working North and especially around you. Granted my info is old but it was my understanding that they are considered a nuisance and take them anytime and anyhow. They are extremely destructive to farmers crops, so I hear. I've also been told that they can be extremely dangerous, wouldn't want them anywhere near here.

But, interestingly enough a poster in a different thread mentioned that they are in Wisconsin also.

Happy hunting.

Katy yes there is a bunch here and over by Stockton Lake.Guys been getting bunch over in Iron County. Most they tear up around here is Corn, won't hardly touch Beans. But yes they can be distructive but are very adaptable.

Love hunting them.As far as eating found them Good eating, just carful butchering them.As far as dangerous yes a Sow will protect her Babies but most part Hogs if their headed one way and your there they tend not to stop.

Pretty hard to kill because their Vitals is different from Deer.

You can take them year around down this way year round on private lands. Hope you are able to keep them in check on your place, Rock !! They will make a mess.....and a big one !! They multiply very fast. Large farmers in the SE welcome hunters on their farms. Some hunters are using that to profit by takin' folks huntin at night with night vision scopes and such !!

Got to thinkin' bout this last night. According to the regs down here, you can hunt pigs over bait year round on private land. No bait on USFS lands and pigs can only be takein there during whatever season is in useing the firearms for what ever is in season. The bait can't be within 50 yds of the property line.
