Thumbs up Boating Big Time Now

Been working on the Boat few days, couldn't get it running decided I needed a New Fuel Tank, went to Everharts, they explained to me things had changed on Tanks and Fuel Lines because of Ethanol. So got New Tank and Fuel Line.

Got home put it on nothing.Told my wife one Carburetor wasn't getting Gas asked her if she trusted me to tear it down? OOOOOKAY! I Guess!

I tore it down cleaned it up,put it back together, had a bugger of time with one Fuel Line finally, put a New Piece in,clamped it with Zip Ties.

Got it put together.Said a Prayer. It started first crank.Wife says lets go to the river.

Get down there unloaded.I take it on out had trouble Trimming to get it up on Plane but got it.Wife wanted to know what I was doing?Trying to flip it? I explained.

We was going down through there she was shaking I thought she was scared? No I'm cold.

Got started back to the Pickup hit a snag, scared her but was ok.Got loaded up.

Thank You Lord for Your taking care again!

Sounds like you had fun! I hope you get a lot more of it out of that boat, and can fix any issues with it, too.

We would have been fine with our 14' Fiberform, but it was a barely to be out on rougher water in the Hood Canal. Since that is where we fish, crab, shrimp, etc..., we REALLY needed a more "sea-worthy" boat, and for $500, that was a great find. Had it not been for Len's son buying it, and it only being that price? It wouldn't be in our driveway right now. There is no way we could afford to pay for a boat like that! Len's skillsets are what makes it even feasible to own it. The guy who sold it to Len's DS, lost his storage for it, and also couldn't afford to fix it (motor seized and a lot of other work needed, just not much cosmetic, mostly wiring & motor & outdrive related).

It sounds like you have just the right boat for your needs & enough room, too. Oh, sleeping? Yes, I could do that, but I'd rather be FISHING!

If you are having problems getting the boat to plane, do you have a planing fin mounted to the lower unit? Or trim tabs sometimes work even better.

You have to slow the Boat down to Raise or lower the Motor,no problem to get it on Plane once Motor is right,I'm thinking I should be able to Lower the Motor under Power.

It don't matter little scary on the river with Logs,Snags and Timber, not real fun to open up.
