Turtle lines.

We live in Indiana and it's still on the cool side. When do you think the snappers will be moving in the creeks and ponds? Want to drop some lines for them.

Shallow areas in ponds heat up in early Spring, so any time now should be good

They are already moving here. (N. Kentucky) This cool front might slow them down a tad though. I used poorer cuts of deer meat last year and did really good with it. I use loose-floating jugs in ponds and have pretty good luck that way. I've found if I tie the lines to something stationary line a tree stump they usually can pull the hooks out. I'm looking forward to catching/frying a few myself!
