Broccoli should work. That's their favorite garden vegetable here.

BR, could you imagine me trying to shoot a gun while driving my electric scooter across the land!

Bait ?

I'd try ear corn, but they are big on greens. Maybe apples. I'd be surprised if either didnt work but keep it to ground level view to avoid none target stuff like birds........

Does it have handlebars? I once made a shotgun mount for a snowmachine that pivots for one handed firing.

If they aren't doing damage they are protected here in the badger state. Live and let be or their won't be any left here anymore.

They are definitely on the rise in urban areas.
We often advise to try carrots as bait, seems to work pretty well.

Landowners or occupants or members of their families may trap and/or hunt them at any time and don't need an excuse or a permit.

I have heard catalope. We are going to try that, as we have one of the $*&^!@# getting into our garden.

I would use the '9 gram solution', except my neighbors house (and garage) are too close to the holes.

Anyone have luck with Conibears (#220 or #280) right at the entrances? I am thinking upside down, centered over the hole.....

I use an apple. The big ones are real smart and some will not enter a trap. But the little ones are easy. I guess those would be better eating anyway, but I wouldn't know!

My woodchuck problems ebbs and flows along with the visits from the grey foxes.

It must be the year of the woodchucks because I spotted two of them on our drive to the city.

We caught one very freaked out cat in the trap last night. It must have been curious about the cut up carrot. The poor thin shot out of the trap like a bat out of you-know-where when DH opened it!

We'll try again tonight and tomorrow I'm making an apple pie so I'll have plenty of bait for a few traps.
