Raccoon Bait

I have had great luck trapping raccoon using frozen frog caught in the summer.
My question is, will raccoon eat toads? I have thousands of them hopping around in my yard every summer. I could have a gold mine in coon bait if they eat them. I just never thought about trying them.
Maybe thats why I have so many is because they don't like them..HA!
But during trapping season they might eat anything. Any one try toads for bait?

I would say no also.

Try marshmallows or carp or bullheads.

coons have an extreme sweet tooth. anything super sweet, almost sickly sweet, will work. and most things like that are CHEAP.

Talking

I bait my live traps with a quarter of a day old bagle with a covering of honey. Bagles are free from the bakery and the honey I have plenty of.

I read that toads had a bitter taste to discourage dogs, cats and other critters from eatting them.
