back to deer season

my son and i have always worked our deer up before going out again.......
a friend skins his and quarters and lays in the freezer......anyone else that does this..........i figure he most toss his ribs,,,,where we cut all we can get from ours.........

Are you asking if we quarter it up and place it in the freezer and then cut it up later?

If so, yes, I do that sometimes. Especially if I catch a deer when the weather is still really warm and there's a lot of fly's out still yet.

I quarter them, and age it in a cooler for a week or so.

It's rare that it stays cold long enough here to hang one, and we can kill 6 per year/per hunter, so I dont always wait to finish one before killing another.

The dogs get any parts we dont use

We Debone all but Ribs,do cut off to cook up,not much meat but can't waste any.
