First buck of the season!

Yeah, I got him good too! With my car!!
I went back when it was daylight to take a pic and someone had moved him or taken him. He had a nice five point rack on him.

My car is a mess. Can't even drive it. I was so happy the mechanic was coming to the house today to put a new heater core in, and then all the repairs would have been done. Dang Murphy's Law!

Sure could be making a whole lot of questions - in humor of course!!!! - such as camo color of car, running in silent mode (engine off), was if any no-scent used, what make/model of ammo used, must have closed your eyes and really only wounded him, etc.......

But I won't I'll just say "Been there - done that!"

I hit him broadside, full on body impact, (saw him at the last second and I was going 65mph), and he died instantly. I stopped the car, inspected it to see if I could still drive it, I didn't know the radiator was punctured in 6 places, picked up the biggest pieces of the car that were laying all over the road, nudged him with my foot, he didn't do anything, and I pulled him off the highway by his antlers. I wouldn't have wanted what was left of that meat.

Micheal: The car was covered in 6 inches of ranch dust, smelled like Holstein manure, AND I cheated cause I got him before daylight, but SHHHH! don't tell! Apparently, dirt colored Dodge Durangos are deadly weapons!

Luckily I made it home before all of the antifreeze leaked out. I would have had even bigger issues. BTW: hubby says he is buying me a bike.....

Sorry to hear about the Dodge and the deer. We came in from the mountains yesterday evening and were just talking about "Now is about the time to see some deer." Thats when the buck ran across the road right in front of us! DH is a great driver and managed the break and swerve at the same time. I am not sure about the deer, but all the rest of us were in a tight pucker for a mile or so. Happy hunting when the time comes!
