Recoil Rig - Amazing Fishing Idea - This Will Work!!

Found this idea when I was surfing the net trying to find a Knot Tyer which is made by the same company. This invention allows you to work a lure or bait IN PLACE without having to move it or retrieve it. When we are fishing the salt in the inshore parts of the Gulf of Mexico, we fish something called Potholes clear sandy areas amongst sea grasses. The predator fish (sea trout, Redfish, etc) hang out on the edges of these potholes and dart into the clear to pick off bait fish. The trick is to be able to keep our lure in the strike zone for the greatest amount of time. The same thing applies for oyster reefs. The problem with reefs is the more you drag your lures across the shells the greater the chance you have of snagging the bottom. I ordered some to try in salt water as well as fresh.

There are some videos on this site as well.

Are you specifically pointing to the "recoil rig"?

Looks like I could put that together with what I already have in my t-box.

Yup, the recoil rig. I understand from the guy who developed it - I called him and spoke to him about the rig, that the real problem with the rig comes from having an elastic band (sort of like a bungee cord) that is light enough to be pulled on easily to get the lure to dance yet strong enough to withstand being stretched violently during casting. Good long casts can make the weight at the end of your line experience a few G's during the power part of the cast and with a elastic band attaching the sinker to the line even more stress would be expected. Once I get my kit, I will let everyone know what the bands look like.
