Reloading Has Commenced...

UPS just dropped of 4-8lb jugs of 846 that Doc had drop shipped,he gave 10k LR primers when we had our 4 person(+1 dep sheriff)shoot on the 4th of July.So I figure I'll trim/load 100 a day until job is finished-7.62x51.Brass just barely stretched but this is 3rd reload on them. The old Dillon has been getting quite the workout this year.....

Your not even warming your Dillon up, pushing a hundred rounds/day through it. Maybe your fingers are tired of turning/reaming brass?

So what is once-fired 7.62 NATO brass worth (boxer primed)?

Midway sells it for about $30/100 for Remington brand.

Military brass is worth a little less since you usually have to remove the primer crimp before you can reload

WOW! I don't spend much more than that for my loaded surplus ammo.

Brass has already been loaded twice,so cost is negligible...I'm loading this for about .25 a round.Primer pockets were reamed 1st time, very little stretch,I'm trimming very little...the only brass that will be nasty are the 1000 we shot through a H&K-but they're in a seperate bucket,so I'll mess with those last....Ammo does'nt need to be done until Dec31,so no need to rush..

I had no idea that brass was so valuable.

What would once fired .243 brass be worth?

Brass is why ammo is so high, that's why you reload. The brass BFF quoted is new....once fired 7.62x51 is $150-175 a 1000....Used .243 is probably worth about the same.If I really wanted to be cheap(and drive myself crazy)I'd reload the 55gal drum of berdan primed 8mm we've accumulated and the 7.62x39,7.62x54...but things are'nt that crazy yet.
