Question filling pond w/ fish

The home I maybe moving to has a pond, it's not very big maybe 100x30 feet. I'm wondering if I can fill it with fish? and if so what kind? This may sound a little redneck, but I'd like to 'fish' out of it too

I know next to nothing about fish, but I like fishing

I was just asking about fish the other day and they told me that it is one fish per 100 gallons per water.

tillapia are amazingly well suited to small aquaculture type setups. I assume california is warm enough. they are great cause they eat algae too! look into aquaculture stock fish and you may get some good ideas

as for fishing them, out, i cannot honestly say i have tried that one with tillapia.

It depends on what kind of fish are allowed in your area by the CA DNR.

If your water is warm enough and they are allowed bass/bluegill is a common stocking combination.

You could try looking at the free publications here. http://www.fish.washington.edu/wrac/

I would probably go with hybrid blue gills. They grow fast and are very tasty. You would have to restock every spring to replace what you catch and eat.

Gotta know depth and bottom type. Is it spring fed or run off?
