Ever Tried This Bait For Crappie? "Li'L Fishey"

I have heard these are "KILLER" crappie baits.Just didn't know there were so many colors. If you have tried them, which color works best most often.I have always used live minnows.

Eddie, I have used them before on largemouth but not crappie. The cream (white) seems to work best for the bass. I have had better luck with the slider's http://www.crappie-slider.com/weedle..._slider_whyhow for Crappie.

On a side note, we have not had a Spot run in Brunswick County yet. What are you hearing from your neck of the woods ? Thanks

Here in my part of Louisiana(central part of state) most crappie fishermen use the tube jigs. I still use shiners(minnows),and have good success when they are biting. Crappie should start hittin pretty soon since the weather is beginning to cool some. When the crappie are not biting, I fish for catfish and gar(longnose needle gar) using the shiners. The catfish and the gar prefer dead shiner and usually by the time I give up on crappie I have some dead shiners in the bucket. I sew the dead shiner on hook with head down.

I like that crappie slider bait and (WEEDLESS) Think I'll order a couple. The Spots? Not yet,my son tried them at Swansboro week B 4 last, they had not arrived yet.About a month ago, three or four different groups of folks around here, fished Chesapeak Bay for croakers. They caught more than ever, from 400 to 6oo, each boat, each trip.Happened that my son was work heavy, and did not make the trip to VA this year.Maybe next yearThanks for the crappie bait info.

I have caught a few on white grub jigs, but not enough to leave them shiners home. The guys around here swear by that "Lil Fishie" jig, enough they said their minnow buying days were over.

I never thought to ask the color.Where I live, the closest minnow supply is 25 miles, and you really need to use them that day.Wait till the next day,I have always had about half of them to die.
Which if the crappie are really hungry, they will bite most anything.I have gave out of minnows, and have used cigarette pack alum foil wrapped around the hook.Evidently them crappies thought it was a minnow, they kept biting for a good while anyway.Check out these pictures, the crappie were caught on a "Li'l Fishie"Atleast they are SAYING they were, lol. Thanks for the reply,
