Do you need names / numbers for guides or are you going on your own? We live just a hop, skip & jump away from Bull Shoals Lake / White River State Park in Lakeview.

I'll talk to DH & see if he can suggest some rigs & I'll see if I can get a website link for you for the "White River Rig".

Especially if you hook into one of those big Browns! Mmmmm, mmmm, good!

Some of the guides provide you with EVERYTHING (including preparing the fish!). But of course, I'd personally bring my own stuff as to go out on my own. And depending on if they are generating or not, you may be wading OR stuck on the bank (unless you rent a boat).....you never know.

We don't really fish the river much, but yes, I'd say that 2# is a wee bit on the light side. If you guys get too many trout (espeically the browns), feel free to come on by & we'll fire up the smoker or the grill!

Hey Big Rock Pile,

Glad to hear your gonna come down and fish the White. I fish it all the time, though usually wading with a flyrod. CarolynRenee is right about the line weight. You need to respool with at least 4 wt. Ultra light rods are fine. Most guides have rigs for you to use but will also set yours up for the conditions you will be fishing in. Like CarolynRenee said, they do provide everything, even lunch. Guides always take you out in a boat. If the water is low you will anchor the boat in a good hole to fish. If the water is up then you will drift and fish. Most use sculpins or worms for bait. Power bait works well too. Rooster tails and little spoons are the common artificial lures. You are gonna have a great time!
