Drew a Vermont moose tag.

I can't believe it! I entered the draw for a moose tag in three New England states and drew an either sex in Vermont E1 which looks like about the best area in Vermont, far north east corner.

If there's anyone from the area I'd be interested in guide recommendations, etc.

What kinda gun/weapon you gonna use? Gramps said those things were tough. He killed a few in Maine toward the beginning of the last century. .45/70 and a .32 Winchester Special were two of the rifles he used I know of. They killed one from a logging camp with a .38-55 but I'd think that would be a little light and possibly illegal now?

Congrats! Pretty country up there.Just curious on odds of drawing? I put in for a Deer hunt should get drawed.

I would think you would be fine with Old trusty 30-06.

I'll probably use my .375 H&H. One planet, one rifle.

I read somewhere that the odds for an out of stater are one in eighty seven.
