Ever personalize your hunting rifles or pistols.

In one of my Backwoodsman magazine theres a article about this guy who personalized his shotgun. He took a cheap 12 guage H & R breakover shotgun and nailed a few furniture tacks on the stock into a design. Really made the shotgun look old and rustic. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with my old smoke pole. I still use the old type of muzzleloader and roundballs. I doubt whether I'll ever get rid of the rifle as the resale value is only about $50. if you can find a buyer. Not to mention, I'd rather hunt with it then a modern inline which I think defeats the purpose of having a primitive season.

But anywho, was wondering if anyone else out there personalizes any of their hunting weapons and if so, what did you do?

Forgot to mention, when I was about 12 years old I received a over&under for Christmas and still have it to this day and it's personalized. When I was about 20 years of age I used a woodburner and drawed a dog treeing a squirrel on one side of the buttstock and a beagle chasing a rabbit on the other side of the buttstock. Quail on the forearm stock. Probably considered worthless now, but that's alright as I don't plan on getting rid of it. It's priceless to me.

Personalizing for aesthetic reasons never really crossed my mind other than re checkering a stock on one old gun. I also cut the pistol grip off of my little browning pump 20 gauge to make it more of a European type grip. Good luck on your customization.
