IL shotgun season

well, our 1st season is this weekend. i have a sitter lined up, i am going to get her at 4am, lol, on frid. dh and i are hunting together fri am, then i guess we will share fri night and sat, then sun i have a sitter lined up for sunday after church, so we can hunt together the last night if one of us hasnt filled our tags. im so excited!! i havent got to go with him for a while, and im hoping i see something to shoot. im shooting this 20 gauge single shot, it is simple and doesnt hurt so bad, lol. i shot the muzzleloader last year, but im usually so nervous by myself, that i have a hard time remembering all the steps to loading and reloading. so wish us luck!! when we hunt together we will be at a farm about 20 min from our house. we arent quite sure what deer are on that property, this is our first fall with it. when i hunt alone, im going behind our house, lol. but the big old 18 pt is back there, so im hoping to run into him. i think if we were together and he walked up, we'd have a hard time deciding who got to shoot him! oh well, id let dh have him

Good luck and be safe this weekend. Our 9 day season starts saturday too. I am just north of the ILL border. Been seeing a good number of big bucks. I geuss all teh rain we got this yr grew big deer. I have my eye on one that should run between 250-275 on the hoof atleast.
We are in the CWD zone and have unlimited doe tags and its for ever doe you can shoot a buck still here. Plus they are letting us use rifles now too.
Have Fun
