Have a question

Iam hopping that someone might be able to help me find a certain item (Christmas gift). My son in law mentioned that he would like a pack that he can take out to the woods with him. He said think of the one Indiana Jones carried in the movies. I think that he will be taking this pack to gather ginsing on his property possibility other items he may pick up while out in the woods. My first thought was a hard sided leather pack, but then decided that a soft sided one might be better as he could turn it inside out to clean out the dirt. Does anyone have any suggestion on what Iam looking for and where to find one?

while I can't offer the perfect pack for him, I will say that if he doesn't have one, any nice quality one should suit him fine. Unless he has a special one in mind.

I dont think you are going to like the prices for stuff like that,

http://www.blavish.com/worlds-most-expensive-backpack/

next cheapest i found was 600 bucks,

I think he would be better off with canvas ( I would water proof it good though)

still pricey but not too out rageous.

Thanks, I knew that someone here would have some suggestions. DH and I might take a trip out to Cabelas this week to also check out if they have one.

Look at the trappers pack on LL Bean's site. They are only 100 bucks and look pretty well made. If thats to pricey, Im sure you can find something else similar to that.

I still have two book bags we got
from LLBeans for our girls 15 or 20
years ago. Use one for trapping,
and one for a light bug-out-bag.
Soft, not too big, carries easily.

Look for a trap shooting bag.
It can be leather or nylon,, You can get them with a belt or shoulder sling.
On the trap shooting range you put your used shells in them as you shoot your 25 rounds.
I have seen real nice ones made of leather in the 80 to 100 range at Cabelas I think.

How about a book bag. I've noticed several students now carry a book bag that has one strap and usually carried on the side and slung over the neck and one shoulder. I've been thinking about switching over to one if I could find one camoflaged. I'm thinking they would be a lot more comfortable then a backpack. If one shoulder gets tired, switch over to the other shoulder for a while.
