Congratulations on the deer.I also managed to get one yesterday, but a little farther from the house.I was in my stand on top of a ridge. The deer was down the ridge a ways, but still on top. When I shot, the deer fell and rolled down the hill a tad.
Just enough, that I had to get my wife to help drag it back to the top.I had told her the shot blew the deer about half way down the hill.Anyway, after all the sliding, stumbling, pulling, huffing and puffing, and a couple of sharp eyes rolling at me a few timeswe made it.
Then after about 15 more minutes to get our breath, she looked at me and said, next time, try to blow the deer a ways closer to the house.Ok Honeybunch I'll try,I said. There went them eyes again.lol eb
