carp bait ideals? Got any?

gonna set out a trot line or two and want to catch rough fish such as carps. So thinking of making a big batch of dough balls. One of my favorites is to use Wheaties with flavored soda pop mixed in. Such as strawberry pop, or grape pop. But I really need a big batch if I set out a couple or more trot lines so I need any ideals of making large batches of dough balls with the least minumum expense as necessary. Any ideals?

Has anyone ever made dough bait using Oatmeal?

reccommend strawberry jello or licorice extract addedwhen making dough. then drop dough balls into boiling water for a minute or two to toughen them up. boiled they last longer than just wrapping a wad of the dough around the hook.
also you may want to chum your fishing areas. sour birdseed like you would corn. throw out 1/2 to 1 cup in the general area. throw it so it scatters over as large an area as you can. do not use corn, beans or other large foods as you wind up feeding the fish instead of attracting them to your bait.

If your looking for a large cheap dough ball batch, flour water and cattails or cotton balls is hard to beat. You can add anything you want to the mix one of my dads best concoctions was simply flour and canned spinach. Try different things and write the recipe down each time in case you find a particularly good combination.

Keep it simple.
Buy two cans of Green Giant niblets corn {yes it has to be Green Giant trust me}.
Chum the area you'll be fishing with one can, and use the other can for bait.
Carp can be skittish, so if you set out a trot-line you should be o.k.
If you cast out a line, secure your rod and sit up on shore away from your pole{s}. Because if you're walking around on shore, the carp can feel your footsteps and we be less apt to bite.

GLGF!!

Corn kernals! I forgot about them. Use to have some purty good luck just using corn.

Thanks everyone, You all gave me some good ideals. Hopefully I can make up a batch and get back out there on the water soon and catch enough fish for the winter.
