Remember your first catch?

My ds caught his first fish, fly fishing yesterday. You never saw such an excited boy. It was a rainbow trout and not big enough to keep, his teacher said, but to my ds it was perfect. The instructor took his photo and he gets a print next week at class. You couldn't keep ds away now.

Dd went also, she says ds caught the protein, she caught the salad, two leaves and some sea weed. She is enjoying the class.

Please pass our congrates on to your son for caughting his first fish with a fly rod...and to your DD for the salad..

Always nice to see a kid out doing rather than sitting on the sidelines watching. No matter how many fish he catches in his life, bet he never forgets that one even if it isn't one of the biggest. Have that picture framed so the young man brag on it a while.

I remember my two sons first fish they caught, but mine was a nightmare.Me and my dad was fishing in a pond. When I saw my cork go under I lifted the pole and the fight was on,it was me and the fish. Finally after a long fight with me and the fish pure give out,I mustered up bearly enough strength to lift that Bluegil, that was the size of a grownups hand,Out of the water and swinging toward me,when all of a sudden that fish with the rest of his strength flounced one more time and fell back in the water.I have never forgot that smile that was streached all the way across my Dads face from one ear to the other.Horrible I tell you, pure horrible. lol Eddie Buck

I don't remember my first catch but I do remember my first tournament win, I was 9. My DD follows after me as well, she won her first tournament at 12.

Yep, I have an old black and white pic of it with my dad. It was a 11" brook trout that I caught on a cane pole when I was 8 years old. I remember that I could hardly pull enough...yelling to my dad for help.

I think my first fish was a nice fat yellow perch from a "pay pond". (Since there is no photo evidence), it was about 24 inches and 11 lbs. as I "recall"

I remember spending all day fishing with my grandfather. Best times. As a kid the pan fish were always more exciting than the big fish.
