Just Got Back From our Annual hunt

Me and some buddies go every year on an annual hunt.Only been doing it three years and every year it has snowed. It didn't let us down this year 13.3 inches.Shut the Hogs down Big Time,we tried Spotlighting, baiting and just plain hunting out rears off.

I had Rifle issuses the first day, changed rifles couldn't get a shot.I didn't get anything but here is a pic of me plus some of my Buddies and the critters they got.

Here is me after a day of hunting

Rockpile, why are you and the guy with the deer the only ones hunting in the snow, or did it start snowing after they killed their hogs?Hope you had a good time anyway. Eddie Buck

Eddie we got there Friday about Noon and started hunting.Great weather hogs were moving.I seen over 20,got one shot but I was using my Sidelock Muzzleloader,it misfired on me because the Hammer isn't hitting right.I was having the same problem before Deer season, thought I had it fixed, but didn't.So I changed to my Inline mostly, did use .223 a little.

But it started snowing early Saturday morning, came down hard all day.The Hogs just laid up in the tight brush, couldn't get them to move. That night it stopped snowing,so we went Spotlighting, got my 4 Wheeler stuck, got one of the Guides down to pull me out.He was running in front of me,had a Hog in front of him,but by the time I got stopped and around him the Hog was gone.

Sunday was clear did see 5 Hogs but couldn't get a shot. One Guy went to shoot a Hog his Safty was froze on his Shotgun.

Yea because the weather was so Bad the Guy that owns the place told me I could shoot a Deer or he could knock off some next year on the hunt.I told him I had plenty of Deer meat so I would see him next year.

Yea I always have a good time there.Oh had one Guy shot a Hog 4 times he thought it was dead.He had his Back to it,it gets up and was trying to bite him on the butt

Big Rockpile, how much does a hunt like that cost?

So much a day, or so much per kill?

Hogs are pretty reasonable. If you don't go as a Large group it cost $600 but we went as a group cost $500.

But you go in on Friday hunt until dark, they feed you a good Meal.Get up saturday get cup of Coffee down,go out hunt until about 10AM come back in eat a Big Breakfast,go back out hunt until dark, another Big meal, the same as day before on Sunday.Finish and leave about Noon.

But they give you a place to sleep, good meals, transport you back and forth through the woods if you want, haul your animals in,skin and quarter them.He is trying to keep Big Hogs in there 200+,our Biggest was 338 pounds, smallest 178 pounds.Your allowed one Hog.

I asked him about shooting a White Fallow Buck? He said they start out at $1,000.Last time I was there I killed a Ram for $650,but I think he went up on them.

poorboy yea them Hogs had some stiff competition
