Pontoon Boat - One Man Style

Have been thinking of getting one of these for a while. May have to spring for one soon to use in the local rivers. They say they will handle class 2 rapids. Anyone have any experience with one??

That thing looks nice. The part I wonder about is

Heavy-duty pontoons with abrasion-resistant PVC bottoms and tough nylon tops
How well will these things hold up?

I see them all the time on the Salmon River. But most of the ones I've looked at had the nylon all the way around, to protect the bottom from rocks, or else had rubberized fabric like the big rafts. I'd be scared of just PVC between me and rapids.

It looks like they draw about 1/2" of water, they could go in any shallows. I watched one guy last summer take a week to float 60 miles along the highway, camping on sandbars and having a good time.

I would also be careful of using one in a lake if a breeze comes up. It might be tough to row back home.

If I get one it will be one with the capability of using an electric motor on it. An electric should push this critter right along. The one I'd really like is the 2 man one.

BTW - I have found the same boat on Costco's website for a bunch less money.

These little soft skin inflatables have a certain charm that catches my interest. They remind me of a large truck tube I rigged years ago to fish for bass in a series of connected gravel pits. Caught a 5+ bass early in the day and taught it to Gee and Haw while it moved me around the deep pits, catching it's kin.

After much thought and research, I found a better solution to my "catch where you can " fishing that will accommodate my fishing buddy or a high energy grandchild to paddle...Glen

This is the 2 man one I really would like to have, although I can buy 2 of the one man ones from Costco for less than this one. This one has more cargo space if just one person was going and camping out.
