Arrow Backcountry Packing team

For those that like packing and backcountry camping I am offering both a gaited colt soon to be a gelding and a pack mule for sale this year. I am leaving on a day trip to the VA Creeper trail on the 2nd and then on the 5th I am headed to GA for a weekend trip. I will take lots of photos and hopefully let you all in on my adventures. If you are interested in one or both just send me a note.
**Personally I'm hoping to use them a lot here in the next several months but I have to train several more so I need to let these go**

Post Update on Trail/Pack Team

VA Creeper Trail - Day Trip
Cross Posted from Equine and BB Tread....
I know....
This thread is not worth a dime without photos so as soon as I get some I'll put them up. I did not take a camera this time but someone else did.
We drove to White Top and parked at the station, it is a really nice set up. Decided to work from the top of the trail back.
I took a black/white pinto 2 year old colt (Rocky Top) and ponied my mule (Freckles).... I had a great time folks. Freckles was assigned to carry the hay bag and our lunches.... Neither had seen a bike and yes there were plenty, all sizes, styles, and speeds.... after the first group, Rocky and Freckles did not care. then came the train tressel bridges.... I just love paso finos..... they cruised right across like nothing. The other breeds were not as confident. I know I crossed at least four, lost count after that and the view was outstanding. We were WAY, WAY up in the air on the first one.
then we had the opportunity to cross the river (really big creek in my mind), water up to the knees.... Rocky thought it was really cool to get Freckles all wet, boy that mule was not amused! If looks could kill Rocky would be history. Death by mule stare!
Rocky is a real go getter - he would have largoed the entire time but that would have killed the other breeds and riders.... so I put him in front and we lead the gang. He kept trying to get the rest to go a little faster but they liked their slower pace... he finally gave up and then at the end he just left them for the trailer.... we even showed the lady with the TWH that you can canter a gaited horse and it will not kill them! VBG It was cute to see Rocky and Freckles doing a slow canter down the trail all packed up and the others without packs trying to do the same!
Well folks, if you get a chance - ride the Creeper. It is wonderful and the views are worth every moment. Trails are groomed so no shoes are needed.
This weekend we are off again, so I'll take photos this time - have not decided where we are going but we are going......
Photos later.
