Reelfoot Lake

I live in Missouri not far from Reelfoot lake in Tennessee. I have never fished the lake but would like to this year. Anyone have any pointers as to how to fish for crappie and bluegill in this lake?

Thanks,
Tom

Hey Tom,
I live close to Reelfoot Lake. I hear they are catching crappie now. A lot of people troll for crappie using a spider rig. A spider rig is fishing with a bunch of poles sticking out from the front of the boat and trolling around until you find some fish. You can use a crappie rig with minnows. You have to have a lot of patience because there are a lot of stumps under the water. You can't run a boat fast either unless you stay on the boat trails because of the stumps. If you have a small motor fix it where it will raise up if you hit something.

As for bluegill, fish around the trees with crickets around May and June.I like to jig fish myself.
