North American Hunting club?

Is this club worth the 12 bucks a year? I just got an envelope of "goodies" from them and the promise of some free gifts if I join.

I am a life member of the NAHC and have been since 1992. They are well worth it if that is something your interested in. They have a nice magazine and do a few tv shows on cable.

My DH has been a life member for several years now. The magazine is pretty good, and the club also has the opportunity to do product testing occasionally, my DH has gotten several things, bug spray, a knife, and more recently an awesome antler mounting kit. Also, when my DH first got the life membership, he got a gorgeous leather jacket that he gave to me I'd say whether you join yearly or get a life membership it is well worth it.

It's a good organization. I've been a life member for many years now. It's worth the $12 a year just for the magazine.

They've made some changes over the years that I'm not too thrilled with. The product testing used to be really good. They'd randomly choose members to test products that you got to keep free. Now they send you a packet and you can order products to test free....for 30 days. Then if you want to keep it you have to pay for it.

But, like I said, overall it's worth it. It's a good magazine with lots of info every month.

Lifer here since 1992. Good magazine and I've even bought a few of their trial "specials". I've never been picked as a field tester for any of their products though. I always figured it was because I don't buy every special offer they send you though.

My DH got his life membership in January of '02. Maybe they had added more perks since you had joined, like the jacket and plaques and stuff. I know as far as the product testing goes, there is a form you have to fill out to be eligible to do one. Each time you field test a product you need to fill out the form again to be re-eligible for another test. I think there is a limit of one or two tests yearly per member. There's information about it on their website.

Same here. I was only a member for about 3 years and about all I got in the mail from them was a bunch of window stickers.

Just be aware that it is not really a "club". It is a for profit enterprise and in no way fits the description of "club".

After they sent me a book I didn't want, which I returned, they said I didn't, I told them to kiss off and never send me another offer. They do not pay attention to instructions for I get junk mail from them once a year and I send it back with all the junk except my application at their expense. It is a for profit business, not a club, but what hunting entity these isn't?

I had joined back when .... I never got anything anything close to what they temted ya with. Nothing actually so I let it die. The mag was a big advertisement to me- not much worthwhile back when I was in it- at least not for me anyhow.

Was a member for a year, didn't like the idea of commiting to a "life membership", and didn't like the books that were sent that were not ordered and then billed.
Mag was O.K. for the bucks, but I did drop my "membership" for the above reasons.

I've never even got a book that I would haft to pay for. All I ever get from them is the magazine and a few stickers ever so often.
