I saw this on NJhunter forum. This was this guys first deer with a bow.


So today I was sitting in my stand, out in Hacklebarney state park. Around 5:30pm I started hearing all this banging and shouting coming from some distance behind me. As it got closer I could hear people shouting, "run away deer" and banging pots and pans together. I figured my hunt was over, and I was not looking foreward to being harrassed. Just then a doe came sneaking through the brush behind me. She was so focused on the noise behind her she never even bothered to look anywhere else. Once she was close enough I let my arrow fly, and ended up getting my very first deer with a bow. Had it not been for the anti-hunters doing a drive towards me, I may never have seen this deer. Can anyone define the word irony? haha

What are NJ's laws on hunter harassment?? i would be making a report on the incident! Oh congrats on the first deer by bow!

i hope they had a liceinse for participating in a deer drive

we require that all drivers have a licience here kids can drive without but need be near an adult with one.

Neighbour here had the same thing happen, he has an organic hippy-dippy B&B next door to him, was out hunting and these three "guests" of the B&B come through with one of the owners trying to scare the deer away.
First thing that got interesting was they were on his property without permission.
Second was that the owner of the B&B was charging their guests an extra fee for guided "nature walks".... on HIS property.

Things are rather un-neighbourly now.
