Thumbs up Elk Tags............

...........I finally got my private land elk hunt tags for this fall .........here in AR we have elk hunts in the northern part of the state there is a public land hunt with 18 tags being drawn during a festival held each year an 2 tags auctioned off at the Rockie Mountain Elk Foundation banquet each year .................then there is so many tags each year set aside for private land hunts ..........where you need to have the land owners signed permission an a set area to hunt in turned in an then when you receive your tag you have to call in an check the quata taken before each day of hunt ...........I am looking forward to the hunt this year not only cause I finally got a tag but so did my dad an he is just now recovering from cancer there for awhile we was not sure if he would be around an if so if he would ever be able to do anything like this again .............he will be some weak but he is looking forward to this hunt more than he has anything in a long time so it might be just what the doctor ordered hahahaha.........we will be hunting on lil over 900 acres of private land so we can use the 4 wheelers to get to an from the hunting areas so that will be good for dad ...........will post back here an let y'all know how things go after the hunt

Congradulations frenchy. They just started something like that here in Oklahoma. I haven't figured out how it's done yet and I have no ideal of how to contact someone way over on the other side of the state to see if I could hunt on their land. I'm just wondering if the game department has a list of land owners who are willing to give out permission to hunt?

I pray that your dad gets to feeling real good for the hunt and continues getting around real good for years to come.

You are the lucky one. I have tried to get a tag for years but can't come up with enough money to purchase one. I have seen 5 elk on my property severial times but can't kill one. I would be glad when the season is over.
