Catfish are starting to spawn

My DH went out fishing this morning, and got a late start.. He went out about 9:15 to his local spot.. and called me about 9:25 and said "THEIR HITTING" he had already gotten 3 of em.. and then called 20 mins later and said " bring the big cooler, my 5 gal. bucket is getting full! He is still out there but last call at 10:30 he had about 8 already!

LOOKS like we will have a fish fry soon!

ANYONE got a good hushpuppy recipe )

I went sandbass fishing last Friday morning and there was a man and his son just a few feet away on the gravel bar doing some catfishing. When they got ready to leave they asked me if I wanted their two catfish they had caught. I gladly took them and when I filleted them out they were plum full of eggs. So as soon as the sandbass quit bitin I'll be switching over to catfishing. Might as well fill my freezer up with them too!

I'll have to get back with you on the Hush-puppies. My wife has been buying some in the frozen food section and they are a lot better then what she makes. Today we had a big fish-fry and she had boughten some that had Jalopeno peppers in them. They were excellent! She is asleep right now, so I'll have to ask her tomorrow what the name brand of them are.

Don't know how you season up your fish but I've been buying the Lawry's brand of Lemon Pepper seasoning and people just brag on how good my fried fish taste. It has to be Lawry's, other brands don't get as good of braggin'. I also use salt to season with.
