wild goose closeup flying picture
Thought I would share a photo I took the other day while walking on my perimeter trails. The paired Canada geese, Wild as they are up here in the country (no golf courses) setting, they have a routine of morning flights to the hay field across the road and back around sunset to the beaver pond where they set up 'shop' to pair bond nest.
So, walking along the pair came straight at me no more than 30 yards from ground surface and I had my Nikon set up with about 85mm lens and took the overhead shot. I only brightened it up a little on editing and only cropped about 10% of the edges to show full view of the pair in spread wing flight.
I thought it was pretty cool, especially the way the sunset 'light' was hitting on them as they were flying into the 'sunset' as it were. whatdya think?
The day also I saw woodcock, mourning doves, and hear the cranes back in the beaver meadow. One of these days, I'll try and get a close shot of the brown cranes that nest there. 2 pairs so far that I'm aware of there.
The bluebirds are also back. This is zone 3 N. W. Ontario northland.
