Long, they still have "leftover drawings". That is for the tags that are left when the drawing is held. There should be two more before august of this year. There are several areas in wyoming that have left over tags. Alot of them are ones that have the most land privately held. You can maybe get permission to hunt on some ranches and farms. I would suggest posting a ad in the classifieds section of the Casper star tribune newspaper. Asking for a place to hunt in 2008 season. It is by far the largest circulation of any newspaper in wyoming and is statewide. You can then plan the hunt, apply for licenses next winter and be better to go. You might also get the 2006 copy of the Landowners access book. This is a book put out by the Wyoming game and fish. It is almost a bible for hunting. It has the landowners that give access to hunt certain game animals on their property for free. It also has their rules as they wish hunters to act. While on their property. Some are simple some are complicated, but is spelled out right there. It is for the safety of landowner and their property and yours. Most of the land owners allow the hunting and fishing so's they are in the book year to year.
Wyoming is almost 50 percent public land, you can enjoy it in many ways. It has places to camp and hunt on the lands. The hard part is getting the licenses to hunt. I averaged getting one license about every 3 or 4 years. I can't complain tho. I did get two moose licenses and two elk licenses in the best areas of the state, and I filled with big boys for sure. If the public hunt sounds like the way to go. PM me, I can embelish on the other things to do to make the hunt more enjoyable. I did hunt that state for over 35 years.
