homesteader...those are some great pictures.thanks for posting them.tell me about the pellet rifle....was a good kiler of the bird?i have never shot one of them but would like to some day.i love to run a trotline on the river.it is so much fun.is the strange fish a flying catfish???what a adventure place you have there....you couldnt keep me off that river.feel free to post anytime your adventure pic's.

The curassow is a pretty big bird for a pellet gun, but I shot this one right in the head. I killed a small agouti the same way...maybe I can post a picture of it later.

I am not sure what the strange fish is. It looks like an armor-plated catfish with extra long fins.

That sure IS a big bird for a pellet gun. Are those birds good eating?

That catfish in the first picture is really an odd looking fish. I've never seen anything like that before. I'd be afraid to touch it! lol

ok the catfish had me worried....lol..so i done a little digging. it is aBlack Thorny Catfish ......(Pseudodoras niger)....i wonder if that thing can sting you bad??....homesteader have you ever caught a redtail catfish?those things can get huge? i think htey aree one of the most beautiful catfish in the world with that big white stripe down the side.

Moonwolf, I have never eaten a curassow. I gave the one in the picture to someone else. I have been told they are tough and need to be cooked a long time or put in a pressure cooker.

Elkhound, thanks for the info on the catfish. I have never caught a redtail catfish...maybe one of these days.

homesteader....any adventures you go please get us some pic's so i can live through you.it is a exciting thing to me to see your pictures.i would love to have the money to just travel around and fish and go adventures around the globe.

cowgirlone....wouldnt it be a blast to go down there??we all could go but you would have to pack us luch...with that canadian bacon you make.....you,moonwolf.homesteader and me...we would have a blast......we could roar up that river and see some sights .it makes my blood boil to think about such things.i would love to catch a redtail catfish.....go have a shore luch on the banks of the river...ahhh...such are dreams .thanks homesteader for sharing with us.
