Piranha & Peacock Bass

Hello again. Sorry to be so long in getting these pictures on here. I normally get on the forum about once a week.

These pictures were taken in Suriname, South America. One is yours truly with a string of small peacock bass. The other is my son with a big piranha.

great pictures! thanks for sharing those.

I suppose you eat piranha? I'm not at all familiar with eating them. How do they taste? What is the best way that you prepare and cook them?

Thanks, moonwolf. Sorry the first picture was so big.

Actually, I have never eaten piranha, I usually give them away. The peacock bass are delicious.

Right now I am living in town on a very small lot. A few banana plants and not much else.

I've heard from people that pirhanhas taste quite good and are tasty. Indians also tack on the teeth on a board to make it a shredder for food...be it manioc root or whatnot.....

I catch small fish for live bait when possible, and also use artificials like you would use for largemouth bass. Rattletraps are good, and the peacock bass seem to like things with some red it in.

Great pics! Do pirhanhas fight as hard as they look like they should? Those teeth must be pretty hard on artificial lures.
