First deer of the year

Got my first deer of the yaer to day. I hit it with the truck on the way to hunt this morning > A small doe stepped out and I hit her right in the head with the headlight. By the tim I stopped she was donw in the front yard of a house. I check and she was dead and not torn up so I gut here and put here in the bed. Insides were torn so it was a mess. Went on and hunted for 2 hours. Did not take anything. The sun was up now and I see the only damage to the truck was a broke turn light. I thought this was odd with all the damage to her insides.
So I get her home and start skining her out and I find a perfect round hole on her right side and a bigger hole on the left. I think she must have been gut shot the night before and just staggered out in font of me. Any way, finshed dressing her, will may get 40-50 lbs of meat ( like I said small deer).
Not how I want to get the meat but I will take it.

You did that deer a favor, and now the meat won't go to waste. Too bad about your turn light though.
