Should I stake my green peppers?

My pepper plants look to be getting heavy. Or at least have the potential to soon. They don't appear to be struggling but should I stake them for support? And if so - how is the best way so I don't damage the fruit?

Thanks all!
Sheri

Our pepper plants are getting bushy, but we haven't had to stake them, yet. I'd wait and see. If one of the branches starts to hug the ground, then you might want to. Otherwise, they don't have the kind of weight in water that say, a tomato plant, has.

The plants are brittle. I've had whole branches just break off when they got heavy with peppers. What a waste. I use cages made out of fencing for them now. If a branch looks really heavy I would stake it somehow if I were you, then next year figure out some kind of support and put it in place when you set the plants out.
