using inoculants on beans and peas

Been reading that this would be a good idea to use inoculates on my bean and peas. This is something new to me but, worth a try if it will do good for the plants.

Does anyone else have experiences with inoculates on their legumes? Good, bad or ugly let me know what you think.

If you do use, is there any certain brand, size packet, best deal you would recommend? Any brands to shy away from?

Thanks

It is especially beneficial in ground where peas or beans have not been grown before. If they are grown in the same place year after year, it's not needed since it will be in the soil. Even then, it is especially helpful with peas to get a quick start since they are so short-livef.

Doesn't matter what brand you use as they are all about the same. Freshness is more important than where it is obtained.

I don't usually use it in the garden unless I start a new area. I always use it when I planted cover crops or clovers in pastures. I used it when I planted peas or vetch in with oats or peas. I used it in clover, lotus and alfalfa when planted for seed. Just mix what you need with water and seal up the rest up and refrigerate....James
