Planter questions Earthway or Planet JR

I may have a chance to buy two older planet Jr row units at a pretty fair price but, I am wondering whether they would be any better then the Earthway that I have now? I have heard that they are not very precise like the Earthway.

I am considering fabricating a way to put either three Earthway seeders on a toolbar of sorts and trying them with a tractor or using the two Planter Jr units in that manner.

Trying to get consistency between rows and use more mechanical cultivation practices. Some day if the money is ever available, I would love to get into the more precision vacuum planters but, that is not possible for now.

Any experience with either or advice on what to look for/at on the Jrs.? Thanks
