Wild Boar Tomatoes

Check out Totally Tomatoes selection of these. My mouth was watering worse than one of Pavlovs dogs. Anyone grow these?

Never tried them myself, but have heard great reviews for Pink Berkeley Tie Dye.

Interesting selection. I've grown 5 or 6 of Brad Gates' varieties but none of those. Will say that all have been excellent taste but short shelf-life. That's common with many of the bi-colors and not just a reflection on his varieties.

For those who don't have the catalog,

I grew Black boar, or was it brown? They are okay. Quite a bit smaller than I expected. The tie dyed tomatoes were very mushy both years I grew them. They are only colored brightly in the early stages of growth and when I tried one then, they tasted "not ripe". If allowed to ripen, they look the same color as other reds - with a dark streak if you look closely. I found the flavor unremarkable. If someone wants to try them, I'm sure I have extra seeds around. PM me and I'll happily send them. Maybe you live in a climate that they will perform in better.

And now they have Indigo varieties! Looks scrumptious. Too bad my area is too cold for them.
