Free Intro to Permaculture Class to be Held in the Ava Mo.
Free Intro to Permaculture Class to be Held in the Ava
Permaculture is a system for designing self-sustaining ecosystems that provide for human needs by using Nature's own techniques. This includes growing your own food with minimal inputs from outside (no fertilizer or pesticides need to be purchased.) By emulating a natural forest, common gardening practices such as tilling, weeding and watering are eliminated or greatly reduced. Permaculture designs also meet many of our other needs such as housing, heating, cooking and materials for arts and crafts. This class will include the basics principles of Permaculture, focusing on Food Forests.
The first night will cover the basics and soil. The second will be on how to get started and food forests.
The class will be in the Ava Art Guild building in Ava, one block east of the square on East Washington Ave (Route 14.) This free class will be held over two evenings, Thursday the 19th of September. and Friday the 20th. The class will go from 6:30PM 9:00 both nights. Paul Hetrick of Ava is a Certified Permaculture Design Consultant will be the instructor. He has recently repeated his certification course with Geoff Lawton of Australia.
