Never heard of them being for sale B4. But if you're able to get some, I'd be interested in hearing how they work out for you.

dizzy,

It turns out that we have some. My husband has been doing alot of research and when we started a compost pile after getting our pigs we discovered them.

Prairie Dog Dung Beetles: (if you scroll down a bit)
http://www.wci.colostate.edu/shtml/Coleoptera.shtml

So we have had a compost pile going on for about 3 weeks, noticed the beetles after 2 weeks. When turning the pile we were amazed at how much those guys have been working. Things are breaking down really nice. My husband does want to eventually purchase some bigger ones that tunnel instead of roll but they are a bit pricey from the places we saw online.

Most people have them and don't realize it. I know we have em around here, but off the top of my head, I can't recall which one(s). Been too long since I studied them in college.

When I looked at the title of this thread, I was going to suggest flipping over a pile of horse poop or a cow pie. If you have dung, they will come.
