OUCH! Stooopid weeds!
Man, there is a vicious, vile velociraptor of a weed out there. Looks like a solanum/ nightshade... My poor fingers are all poked and sore. Dang thing pokes right through my gloves!!
No picture, but it has leaves that are shaped kind of like holly, but not dark or shiny. Flowers look like potato flowers. Grows up a main leader, and branches out.
We've been calling it Spiny Norman (Monty Python fans will get the reference), but I'd like to know its real name.
Anyone?

I use a weed popper and grabber for thing like that- mostly thistle here.

I use welding gloves for Canadian thistle. Then I feed it to the goats.
They're goofy. They also eat multiflora rose.

OK, I need a bit more to go on than a small, gray bug. If you can give me a bit more of a description, I might be able to figure out what it is, or at least what family it's in.

Removing the above ground part of those will cause several more to popup.

ROTFL. Yeah, I guess more info would help.
It was little and it really hurt. 
Actually, I did not get much of a look at it. Kind of slender, no more than 1/3", and I thought it was actually a nettle on the top of my hand. As I looked to figure out how that happened, I saw the bug, realized what hurt, and brushed it away. Should have mashed it into a pulp, little flesh-eating monster...

Horse nettle? I have quite a bit of it. Going for soil improvement. Where I have increased the organic matter I have less weeds.

My best weed pullin festivals are after a rain. High organic matter also helps.

I like one of the alternate names for it: Apple of Sodom. Yeah...
The goal is always to build the soil, but I'm very frustrated that these are in some of my most healthy-soil beds. Grrr! Still, it's loads easier to remove them from those beds than from the hardpan that is the corn patch (first year digging up the compacted grass).

I pull them out the same way too...down low on the stem....I've had the stickers go through gloves before. I have read that the horse nettle can overwinter diseases that affect tomatoes, so whenever I see one I yank it out!

There's a SPINY pigweed? Yoiks!
Here, pigweed (aka lamb's quarters) has no spines. People use it for salad. We feed it to the goats and sheep.
