Old but new garden planter/seeder

I recently acquired a brand new, never used 1940 something Dandy Boy seed planter. It uses the sliding shutter for different seed sizes, and has three (ea) star wheels that provide 6 different seed spacing from 4" to 12".
An acquaintance bought the inventory of an old hardware store somewhere in Minn. In the back was two crates with two never assembled seeders. Paint was like new, no rust, and even the oak handles were in like new condition. The assembly and operating manual along with the tool and star wheels were in a cloth bag tied to the handle crossbar.

I can find almost nothing about the Dandy Boy, other than it was made by The Midland Co.

It's built very rugged, and seems to be the spitting image of a planet jr.

Anyone ever heard of this company?
