Tomatos

I would like to plant tomatos next year in the same spot as this year. I know there are some disease issues. Is there anything that I can do to lessen the possability of any carry over. There has not been any tomatos planted in this ground in the last 5 years except for this year. This years plants showed no sign of disease. The ground is covered with black plastic with small holes cut for the plants and are irrigated.

I always rotate, but if this is the only spot you have, then you could be okay if you dispose of as much of the visible plant debris as possible, by burying it somewhere else or by burning, just for some insurance. Now, if this is only because you want to re-use the same planting holes in the black plastic, you should consider that the ones you already grew there took away quite a lot of nutrients--so by using the same soil, you will want to get the fertiltiy back up to par....

That black plastic may not make it through another Summer. FWIW.
