Replanting peas from earlier this year?

I planted Amish Snap peas and Mammoth Melting Sugar peas early this Spring. Now a lot of the pods have dried and gone to seed. Can I replant those now for a late fall harvest? Maybe even just for the pea shoots if the pods don't have enough time to form? I've always saved them to replant the following year, but if they are dried completely they should be good to go now, right? I'm in Pacific Northwest Zone 8b. Thanks!

Yes you can, I had a few pods break open and they have volunteered out there.
They make good greens mixed with other salad greens and i am sure they have to be nutrious.

That's the best news yet! It made sense but I needed to be sure. Thanks so much!! They are also most delish if you saute them with bacon and onions. Yum!

Best pea field I ever was able to fill a car's trunk with for free was when a field wasn't able to be harvested due to too much rain. Vines quickly rotted but not the peas. As soon as cool temperatures came, all of the peas germinated and were prime in early November. Went hunting coon and came home with a trunk load of pea vines. So, yes, you can plant back peas from the same year.
