Parsnip Seedlings..

Planted parsnips for the first time by seeds.. Ii have read and looked and can not find out what seedlings look like. I presumed they would look like carrrot but don't see anything in the raised bed but weeds after 2 weeks. Can anyone show me a parsnip seedling...???

OK..to answer my own question ?? The seedlings will look somewhat like parsley seedlings. Now I don't know what I really weeded out ? And was reading that they need to be fresh seeds so I think I might re-seed and start again. Another good piece of advice was to put a few seeds in a pot to sprout so you can compare to what you plant into the ground.

That reminds me I have to leave room for a row of parsnips and pick up some seeds.

they will start out as 2 long oval leaves of light green color. then grow a frilly leaf, kinda like a celery leaf in the middle.
I'd get you a picture if i thought my cammera was good enough.
parsnip seeds are the one seed i keep frozenm as it doesn't keep well from year to year.
I let 2 plants go to seed and got a pint and a half of seed. They have o be left in the ground over the winter to collect seeds.
it takes about 20 days for them to come up.
