Yucca

I have a small permagarden I have been working on and wouldlike to add Yucca. We had them as a decorative plant growing up but when I got older I found out they were edible. I never have eaten one but want to find out more. Does anyone grow these? Can you compare taste to anything? Do they spread willingly? What would the bestvariety for food be? So many questions! Thanks in advance!

The Peruvian chicken places all sell yucca as a side dish. The way they are prepared is sliced and fried like french fries and the taste is similar.
