Apple leaves wilting/turning brown

I have 2 apple trees and some of the leaves are turning brown and wilting. What causes this and what can I do? So far I have cut off the bad sections and put the cuttings in the trash so they can't contaminate anything. Suggestions????

I would google apple diseases and compare pictures. That isn't quite enough for a diagnosis. That said, brown spots and patches could indicate cedar apple rust, quite common this time of year. Not fatal usually. too late to spray this year. Spray with immunox next year just before leaf out. If that is what it is.
