Baby onions - Is it normal...?

For transplanted onion seedlings to wilt a bit after transplanting? They are about 2 months old now. I have been trimming them back from time to time to keep them at around 4" high. I just transplanted them outside today... Will they perk up after a couple of days?

No good reason why they should not survive. If purchased as bareroot seedlings, they are already going to be somewhat wilted, dry, and looking half dead. Onions are tough and always seem to recover. I usually try to plant my onion and shallot plants right ahead of a rain.

Leeks are often "wimpier" than onions. Exception this year as the 40 or so that I planted were erect from the beginning. But then, they also were planted deeper and I had water with me.

It is normal for any seedlings to wilt slightly after transplanting.
