? asparagus sprouting?

Approx. how long does it take for asparagus to sprout thru? I planted 50 plants Friday, well that night and Sat we had tons of hard rain.. I have heavy clay soil so I want to make sure to start cking to see if it is too compacted.. thanks

I noticed the Asparagus I planted on the 17th was poking up about an inch yesterday but it may have been a it warmer here in SC.

Thanks , Mike CHS, It's been really warm here and I will start to look for sprouts in 7-10days. Wasn't sure if I should go out and scrap thru the soil a little but I will let them be for a while... Thanks again.

I'm in the eastern panhandle of WV and I just bought some grown by the local farmer close to my house. it was wonderful!!!

Hi, Peggy. I love assaragus and for years, I have wanted to plant it but just never got around to it... I decided this was the yr.! I am not expecting any this yr but next year I hope to be able to cut a few spears. If it does well, I will expand next yr. It's one of the green veggies my husband likes..
