frost seeding ?

Anyone familiar w/frost-seeding ? I want to introduce some clover (probably ?) into a field of natural grass that hasn't been plowed or anything added to it for 75 years, just been mowed ?
At present I'm not set up to till, although I have 2 big plows & a nifty little homesteader-level one that you pull behind a 'garden tractor' ?
Also in a set w/that I got a disk harrow & a spade bit plow, just don't think I have anything powerfull enough to use these things yet - my Gravely walk-behind is set up to push, not pull (& needs ag tires).
If I got some seed, we still have full snow cover of fields (well, my field) - deer are feeding on all the snow-free fields.
Can't find much (yet) on this, tho' did just read one thread on Gene Logsdon's blog about it .

You can spread Clover seed right on top of the snow.

With some types of Clover it's about half "hard seed" which can take more than a year to germinate anyway, so there's no really bad time to spread the seeds
