Sneaky Cucumbers.

I swear, I go out and pick em EVERY DAY. I just have 2 vines but every day I get 2-3 sometiems more off of them. These are the Poona Keeras and they are SO productive and they grow SO fast once the flower sets, its a day or two before you have to pick them. So I pick every day yet I found one today that I somehow missed. It was like a melon, the skin was russeted, very rough like a melon so I gave it to the chickens. It smells really good and sweet as they peck it, like a mellon. Sneaky things, hiding from me like that LOL!

Over grown cucumber:

Still tastes good, very sweet at this point!

Ok, Nickie, you've introduced poona to me, but how did you find them?

Where did you get the seed? Pinetree and Reimer come up on google, any favorite supplier?

Sure does look like a melon.

They're doing the same thing to me. I go thru the garden twice a day, and still manage to overlook a few. They are very prolific, and I have a surplus, every day. We eat them, our families eat them, the goats and chickens eat them, even some of the dogs eat them, and some of them still end up in the compost heap. I will grow them again next year, but will scale back a bit. I got my seeds from Pinetree. They were easy starters, and have remained extremely productive, even in the hottest, driest weather.
